Womens Apparel >> Oversized Scarves / Dupattas

Indian fashion has mastered the art of draping beautiful fabric to add flare to any outfit. Dupattas are the traditional oversized scarves which are worn with an Indian salwar kameez outfit, “kameez” meaning a tunic top and “salwar” referring to Indian style pleated drawstring pants. A dupatta is normally 44” wide x 100” long and can be worn countless ways. Popular styles of draping include cascading down from the left shoulder or equally draped over both shoulders with the ends falling to your back.

However, the generous sized cotton fabric can be easily adapted into sarongs or wraps as well as fabric for home décor. A creative spirit can use the fabric for window sashes, table clothes, re-usable gift wrap and countless other decorative and whimsical ideas.
