Cushion Cover Woven Naga Mithun
The seemingly simple technique of interlacing warp and weft threads on a handloom has resulted in a richness and diversity of woven textiles in India. Inspired from the traditional naga textiles known for its distinct combinations of geometrical patterns and colours, these hand woven cotton cushion covers have been created by women weavers from the tribal weaving community in Nagaland in north eastern region of India. Woven on a traditional backstrap loom in plain weave with supplementary weft design, these cushion covers translate classic naga motifs into contemporary styles. Tassles - typical to naga textiles are across the centre and edges of the cover aad to the look. The back of the cover is a complementary cream white with a two button closure across the centre.
